Caitlin is my daughter. She is 11 and very curious in the kitchen. She is the kid who comes in your house and if you are in the kitchen cooking she grabs your wooden spoon and starts stirring the pot and asking questions. And yes, she asks to lick the spoon.
I have found that inviting my kids into the kitchen to help in the making of their food results in more of a willingness to try new foods. It helps them to decide what they like and to make healthier choices.
Caitlin and I have made many memories cooking together – homemade cavatelli, cookies, pies, meatballs…and will be adding to this post frequently. You can find recipes that are fun to make with kids under Recipes , “Cooking with Cait“.
Roll up your sleeves and get ready to get messy!
